Rhea's Deli & Market Reviews

I ordered The Valencia St sandwich ahead with DoorDash and went right in and picked up. Super busy at lunch time but the sandwich was worth the wait!

Great sandwiches, fast service. Store with all essential necessities. Will absolutely be back!

One of my top 3 favorite sandwich spots in San Francisco, Rhea's Deli! Today, I picked up 15 sandwiches for my son's birthday party. My favorites are the pastrami, ham and cheese, and turkey, all served on Dutch crunch bread - the perfect sandwich meal! Delicious food, great service, and everything about this place is amazing - if you can find parking!

Rhea's - A San Francisco Sandwich Gem San Francisco's food scene is packed with exceptional eats, but Rhea's easily ranks in the top 5 sandwich spots in the city. After countless visits, I had to give credit where it's due--this place deserves all the love. Their Meatball Sandwich is nothing short of perfection. The meatballs are tender and flavorful, the sauce is rich without overwhelming, and there's a surprising twist of spice that takes it to the next level. It's the kind of sandwich that makes you pause mid-bite and give an imaginary chef a nod of approval. Weekends can get busy here--it's a hotspot, after all--but the wait is worth it. Grab a sandwich, head to Dolores Park, and you've got yourself a picnic worth writing home about. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any sandwich on their menu. Each one is crafted with care, and they all bring their own flair. If you're in San Francisco, Rhea's isn't just a suggestion--it's a must. Chef's kiss.

So many people recommended Rhea's and for good reason! Got the Valencia St. As you can see in the picture, the sandwich was pretty loaded. Great amount of meat & I really enjoyed the mustard! Only things were that the sandwich was a bit salty for my taste, and the ingredients weren't spread out evenly in the sandwich. The right half barely had any filling after a few bites, but the left half was PACKED and delicious. Grab & go picnic at Mission Dolores. Perfect lunch at a pretty affordable price (~$16)!

* date visited: 08.24.2024 * ordered: valencia on dutch crunch * the sandwich is so fresh and HUGE. i absolutely love the different textures (crunch from the pickles, tomatoes, onions) softness from the avocado and turkey with the crisp bacon. the bread is also so so good i love dutch crunch * flavor wise, pretty sour and mustard-forward (so don't get this if you're not into it. i didn't think i would be, but it was very good)

Can't believe I haven't written a review for this place! Classic SF spot before going to Dolores Park for a picnic. The wait was only 15 minutes today which is shocking for a Saturday in the summertime. I highly recommend calling in advance and picking them up. The ambiance is nothing crazy but there are plenty of nonalcoholic and alcoholic drinks to pick up as well as snacks. Today we got Judah and Valencia sandwiches on Dutch crunch (warm). Both were fantastic. Highly recommend! I'll keep coming back :)

Great deli for picking up quality sandwiches and convenient store items on the go. My partner and I shared Buster Posey #28 Sandwich and their pastrami is good! The sandwich is wrapped and cut in two, so it's easy to share. They have a very extensive sandwich menu, so I can't wait to return and try out their other sandwiches. (You can also customize your own using their sheets at the counter). Service was friendly, and it can take a bit of time to wait if it's a popular time and other customers are coming in at the same time. But it looks like you can call ahead for your order to pick up. They have a great selection of items for their shop, from over the counter medicines, bottled beverages, chips, snacks, and so much more. The shop is an easy walk to Dolores so it'll be easy to have a picnic there with your items.

Deli near Dolores Park. Lots of options: got some local creations. BBNG - bang bang miner gang, Dolores, 19th, etc Able to call in and place your order.

An unassuming market with incredible sandwiches. You place your order on a paper slip next to the cash register when you enter. I got the Valencia and it came out to be ~$16. She was cut in half (perfect for me to share with my friend) and my oh my was she delicious. The acme bread is incredible and the sauces in the Valencia were amazing. I will be back to try their other sandwiches (many of which are named after local streets!) They also sell chips, drinks, candy, and other snacks as it is also a market!
